These sisal, woven baskets are handmade by a weaving cooperative in southeastern Kenya. The women hand-dye the sisal fibers and weave them into these beautiful works of art. This type of weaving is called fine weave because it is woven with very thin sisal twine, making it a more intricate, time-consuming design and a true work of art.
Amsha works directly with artisans to produce handmade goods in order to create a lasting and positive impact. We use locally sourced and recycled materials in order to reduce our carbon footprint and to ensure that our social impact extends to our supply chain.
When you purchase an Amsha good, our artisans earn 2- 3 times as much as they would in their local market. We support a living wage and benefits that go beyond fair trade.
